Q&A with the our Brilliant Instructor Nandini!!

If you have ever met Nandini you will first know that she is sweet and kind. But she is also very knowledgeable about Pilates and fitness and will make you sweat! We wanted you to get to know a little more about Nandini, here is our Q&A with her:
1. What inspired you to start teaching at Defy?
A fellow Pilates instructor/mentor told me to check it out and schedule an audition with Shannon and Laura. She thought I'd like the studio and she wasn't wrong (thanks Danielle)! The modern look and feel at Defy are not at all like any other studio I've seen. I came in and the music was pumping, the classes were high energy, and everything was bright and sleek! The first few classes I took here were a whirlwind... the energy in this studio can't be beaten and I was excited to be a part of it!

2. What do you love best about teaching at Defy?

Of course, our clients are the greatest! I also love the camaraderie with the other instructors. We get together and share new ideas and choreography to help each other put together creative classes. And it doesn't happen nearly enough for me, but I love it when I can take a class from another instructor. I learn so much from them.

3. What do you do when you're not in the studio?

I love to travel so if I'm not at Defy I hope that means that I am either on a vacation or planning a vacation! I'm from the Midwest and living in Orange County allows me to enjoy everything that Southern California has to offer. And, I love dogs and do a lot of pet sitting to get my furry fix!

4. So, you're teaching a new special class at Defy, tell us about that and how it came together?
It is called Recover+Reset and it came together with Shannon and talking with clients about taking good care of our bodies. The focus of this class is to accelerate our body's recovery using a variety of props and equipment. I often incorporate the Reformer, Bodhi, foam rollers, Pinky Balls, and the Pilates ring in our sessions. I love watching clients let everything go and give their muscles, joints, and tendons some much needed TLC. In addition, this class is from 7:30 - 8:30 at night, which is a fantastic way to wrap up your day and set the stage for a good night's sleep!
If you haven't taken a class from Nandini, what are you waiting for? Grab a spot in any of the fabulous classes that Nandini teaches and prepare to feel GREAT!
