Fads are fads for a reason, they don't usually last because they are not always practical or effective. The moves this article says are useless to do on a cycle bike are push ups, using light weights and the infamous "tap backs" - you know these drive Shannon crazy!

As you Gravity Defiers know, we have power monitors on our bikes because we know you want real results not fake ones. What are fake results? Sweating in a cycle class because the heat is cranked up in the room not because you are working hard or burning calories. Here's a quote from the article:
"Calorie burn is a result of power output, not how high your heart rate is, or how much you're sweating.....due to the heat of the studio"
This is why you won't see a power monitor in a cycle class where you are dancing on the bike. It's simple - when you dance your power output goes down, your caloric output also plummets. Dancing is a great workout - just not on a bike. At Defy, we don't dance on our bikes, but that doesn't mean we don't have fun. We get energized, we get inspired, we get results and we have a great time together. Expect a lot of high fives!
